The Heat Shield Kit provides the tools and materials needed to protect heat-sensitive components and circuit board areas during soldering and rework operations. When performing procedures such as hot-air component removal or BGA rework, adjacent components are often exposed to excessive heat that can cause unintended reflow, oxidation, solder joint damage or component failure. This kit helps technicians isolate the repair area and reduce the risk of collateral heat damage.

The kit includes aluminized heat shield blankets that insulate circuit board surfaces and nearby components from extreme heat. Aluminum heat shield plates can be positioned to deflect hot air and protect surrounding areas during rework. A quick-cure high-temperature peelable mask is provided to seal seams and block heat from spreading into sensitive regions of the assembly.

Additional materials such as high-temperature tape, cutting tools and application accessories allow technicians to quickly configure custom shielding for different repair situations. All items are packaged in a convenient carrying case, creating a portable solution for protecting delicate assemblies during PCB repair and rework procedures.
